Chavis and Farmer Recognized by the Conference

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Mars Hill women's basketball team has placed two players on the postseason accolades list as announced by the league office today. Senior guard Paige Chavis earned a spot on the All-Conference Honorable Mention Team, while freshman Aliyah Farmer found herself on the South Atlantic Conference All-Freshman Team.

Chavis, a senior from Lexington, N.C., was the catalyst for the Lions this season, leading the Blue and Gold in points per game (14.3), which also ranked eighth in the league. She also led the team in three-pointers per game (1.9), free throws per game (4.8), minutes per game (36.2), assists per game (2.7), and steals per game (2.8). Chavis eclipsed the 1,000-point mark during her senior season, becoming just the 27th player in team history to do so.

Farmer, a freshman from Salisbury, N.C. turned in a very impressive rookie campaign for the Blue and Gold. Her 7.9 rebounds per game was tops on the team, while ranking sixth in the conference. Farmer was second to Chavis in points per game as she turned in 11.2 per contest, landing her 23rd in the SAC in the category. She shot 42.3% from the floor, second on the team, and tallied a team-high one block per game.
