Mars Hill wins sixth straight with 5-2 result over Milligan

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. - The Mars Hill women's tennis team (6-0) remains undefeated in the 2018-19 season, earning a 5-2 win over Milligan (2-1) Tuesday afternoon.

Earning the doubles point by taking two of the three matches, the Lions entered singles competion with a 1-0 lead.  They would jump out to a 3-0 lead with singles wins from Evan Lake and Sophia Pelaez, but the Buffaloes stormed back to pull within one point, taking the third and fourth singles matches.  Haley Steinkamp and Kat Horner picked up straight set wins to secure the 5-2 win for Mars Hill.

The Lions will look to win their seventh in a row with a contest against Johnson C. Smith on Saturday, October 13th at the Hart Tennis Complex.  First serve is set for a 1 p.m. start.
