Bivins Named AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Pitcher of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Alec Bivins of the Mars Hill baseball team has been tabbed the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played March 6-12, the League announced today.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Alec Bivins of the Mars Hill baseball team has been tabbed the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played March 6-12, the League announced today.
Bivins, a junior from Lawndale, N.C., threw a seven inning complete game shutout to lead the Lions to a 14-0 win over Wingate on March 11. He struck out six Bulldog hitters and gave up just one hit in his outing. The award is his first Pitcher of the Week plaudit this season.
The Lions will return to action this weekend, traveling to Anderson, S.C. for a three game set with the Trojans. The two teams will play a single game on Friday before finishing the series with a doubleheader on Saturday. Friday's game is set to begin at 6 p.m.
