Teachey named SAC Special Teams Player of the Week
Mars Hill kicker Lon Teachey was named the South Atlantic Conference, WePlayed Sports Special Teams Player of the Week.
ROCK HILL, S.C. - The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Football Players of the Week for games played during week four of the 2023 season. Lon Teachey was named the Special Teams Player of the Week.
Teachey, a sophomore from Teachy, N.C., accounted for 10 of the Lions' 16 points in their 16-14 win over Barton. He was 3-for-4 (75 percent) on field goals, including nailing a game-winning 34-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter. Teachey also recorded one extra point.
