Lions picked eighth in SAC preseason voting

ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Mars Hill women's cross country team was picked to finish in eighth place in the SAC's preseason polling, announced on Wednesday.  The Lions also finished in eighth during the 2016 SAC championship race last October.

The defending champions, Queens University, were selected to repeat after a dominant performance in last year's championship race.  The Royals are ranked 1st in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Southeast Region Poll and received nine of eleven first-place tallies.

Wingate University and Anderson University picked up the remaining first-place votes and are slated to finish second and third, respectively.

Rounding out the top five are Catawba College and Lenoir-Rhyne University.
