Moorman's strike earns Lions thrilling OT win over Erskine

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (3-6-1) completed the comeback victory in overtime Wednesday night over Erskine (2-6-1) inside Meares Stadium.

With less than four minutes remaining in the first overtime frame, Jayson Moorman received a Walker Henderson crossing pass and slipped the ball below Alex Pico to score his first of the season and secure the come-from-behind win.

In the 71st minute, the Lions tied the game up off of Carlos Ayala-Viera's first of the season.

The Lions outshot Erskine 12-11 on the night as Winkler made three saves for his first collegiate win.  Mars Hill returns to action on Saturday afternoon as they host Anderson in a return to South Atlantic Conference action.  Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
