Lions Swimming Places Two on Academic All-Conference Team
MARS HILL, N.C. – The Mars Hill swim team has placed two swimmers on the 2017 Appalachian Swim Conference Academic All-Conference as announced by the league.
MARS HILL, N.C. – The Mars Hill swim team has placed two swimmers on the 2017 Appalachian Swim Conference Academic All-Conference as announced by the league. In order to qualify for the honor the participant must be at least a junior in the classroom as well as maintain at least a 3.5 Marissa Hall represents the women's team, while Ryan Martin serves as the only recipient for the men's side.
Hall, a senior from Fort Pierce, Fla., carries a 3.71 G.P.A. in Business Administration with concentrations in Management and Marketing, while also producing a minor in Regional Studies. Martin, a senior from Clarkesville, Ga., boasts a 3.68 in Computer Science.
Both swimmers were vital parts of a Lions swim team that saw the women finish the season at 10-1 and a fifth-place finish in the conference championships, while the men compiled an 11-1 overall record and a runner-up award in the ASC Championships this past February.
