Mars Hill splits in tri-meet with Converse, Chowan
The Mars Hill men's swim team defeated Converse, but fell to Chowan 94-86 Saturday afternoon.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's swim team defeated Converse, but fell to Chowan 94-86 Saturday afternoon.
Raul Briceno placed first in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 9:28.97, nearly 1:30 faster than the second place finisher. He also took first in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 4:37.73.
Thomas Gibson finished first in 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:50.91 and in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 45.77.
In the 400 yard IM, Matthew Goslin turned in a time of 4:36.31, narrowly claiming first in the race. He placed second in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.49.
The crew of Briceno, Gibson, Goslin, and Ronin Pettit placed second in the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 3:45.55.
