Foust nets 100th career goal versus Cavaliers

WISE, Va. - The Mars Hill women's lacrosse team (2-7, 1-6 SAC) was defeated 21-11 versus UVA Wise (3-3, 3-1 SAC) Tuesday afternoon.
Senior Kiersten Foust recorded her 100th career goal with 7:31 remaining in the first half, becoming the first in program history to reach that mark.
The Lions led 2-1 just over seven minutes into the contest. The Cavaliers responded with eight straight goals as Sydney Trask netted two during the run. Mars Hill went on to score three of the next four goals, including Foust's lone tally of the half, to pull within five, 10-5. Trask netted three of the final four goals of the half as Jesse French added her second of the frame to send the Cavaliers into the half with a 14-5 advantage.
Mars Hill scored three of the first four goals to open the second half including goals from Foust, Sydney Joyce, and Maria Fabrizio. Foust tallied two more in the half while Joyce added her fourth of the contest with 10:55 left to play.
French collected five of her game-high eight assists in the second frame and led all players with 10 points (2g, 8a). Trask led all players with six goals.
Foust and Joyce each recorded four goals apiece to lead the Lions' offense. Rebecca Dallman (1g, 1a) and Alexa Tazzetta (2g) each added two points.
The Lions return to action on Tuesday, April 13 when they take on Tusculum in their final home game of 2021. First draw is set for 7 p.m.
