Holloway, Stevens set records at Buccaneer Track and Field Invitational
The Mars Hill women's indoor track and field team took part at the Buccaneer Track and Field Invitational this past weekend.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The Mars Hill women's indoor track and field team took part at the Buccaneer Track and Field Invitational this past weekend.
Junior Tiffany Holloway placed second in the shot put amongst a strong field with a personal best throw of 13.01m (42'7''). Holloway set a new school record, besting her previous mark by exactly one foot. Senior Shaniqua Stevens placed third in the triple jump with a personal best jump of 11.58m (37'10''). Stevens set a new school record in women's indoor triple jump, besting her previous school record of 37'3.75''.
Senior Rachel Strickland competed in her first race since April of last year and ran her third fastest time ever in the 3000 meters. In a memorable performance, she recorded a time of 12:05.36. In addition, freshmen Megan Van Etten and Alyssa Jamerson both had personal best races in the 3000 meters.
