Lady Lions run at South Atlantic Conference Preview
The Mars Hill women's cross country team headed to Greeneville on Saturday morning to preview the South Atlantic Conference Championship course hosted by Tusculum University at Kinser Park.
GREENEVILLE, T.N. - The Mars Hill women's cross country team headed to Greeneville on Saturday morning to preview the South Atlantic Conference Championship course hosted by Tusculum University at Kinser Park. Top five finishers for the Lions were Sophie Ratcliff, Natalee Powers, Grace Adams, Alleigh Flewwellin, and Fernanda Osuna. The Lions did not run their full squad, nor did they run at full effort as this was just an opportunity to see the conference course one month ahead of the championship race.
Thoughts from Coach Benge:
"We got what we needed today. The entire team was able to see the extremely tough and hilly conference championship course and run multiple laps of the course and feel one lap at race pace today. These were the two goals of heading to the SAC Championship Preview. We will take what we have learned and apply this for the next month until the conference championship race and we will be mentally and physically ready to race this course!"
The Mars Hill women's cross country team next competes at the Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday, October 4th. That race is being held at E.P Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, KY and is set for a 11 a.m. start.
