This marks the first time since 2014 the Lions have been ranked in the Southeast Region.
NEW ORLEANS, L.A. - The Mars Hill Women's Cross Country team are ranked ninth in the Southeast Region in the Week 5 edition of the NCAA DII Women's Cross Country Regional Rankings for the 2025 season, which are released every Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
After the recent Royals Cross Country Challenge, the current Mars Hill Women's team earned the record of being the fastest team in school history. In addition to strong team running, the Lady Lions have finished close behind the eighth ranked team in the Southeast Region, North Greenville, at the past two races which helped to earn this ranking.
