Morrison named SAC Defensive Player of the Week
The senior lineman's sack in OT led MHU to upset win over No. 23 Carson-Newman
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill defensive lineman Sakarri Morrison was named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as released by the league Monday afternoon.
Morrison, a senior from Charlotte, N.C., came up with a crucial overtime sack on third down in a 31-24 win over nationally ranked Carson-Newman that propelled the Lions past the Eagles. For the game, he had 12 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and the sack.

Mars Hill returns to action on Saturday, September 20 when they host Anderson. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. inside the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium.
