NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Mars Hill women's lacrosse team (3-4, 0-3 SAC) was defeated by Newberry (5-3, 2-1 SAC) by a score of 19-4 Wednesday afternoon on the road.
The Wolves put up eight goals in the first quarter, led by Ella Todd's hat-trick. Mars Hill's Cierra Ledeen and Reese Wachter were the Lions' goal scorers in the frame.
Newberry potted four goals apiece in the third and fourth, following a 3-0 second quarter. The Lions were held to one goal in each second half quarter, coming off the sticks of Abby Cleveland and Addison Hellwig.
Todd led all players with eight points (4G, 4A). Along with the goal scorers, Brooklyn Nemitz collected one point on the afternoon with one assist.
Mars Hill takes to the road on Wednesday, March 18 when they face Tusculum. First draw is set for 3 p.m.
