MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's lacrosse team (3-11, 0-10 SAC) was defeated by Lincoln Memorial (7-10, 3-7 SAC) by a score of 15-5 Wednesday afternoon.
Mars Hill led 3-1 after the first 15 minutes as Reese Wachter netted two goals in the frame. Cierra Ledeen scored the second goal of the quarter for the Lions, assisted by Makenna Olson.
The Railsplitters, in both the second and third quarters, outscored Mars Hill 4-1 before holding them scoreless, 6-0, in the fourth.
Josie Tinnerello led all players with 10 points, eight of which were goals. Ruby Copeland added four points (1G, 3A).
Wachter led the Lions with three points, completing her hat-trick bid. Ledeen and Abby Cleveland each recorded a goal and an assist in the game.
Victoria Kaercher stopped nine shots in the contest.
