MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill volleyball team (2-2) opened their 2025 home slate versus Emmanuel (1-3), falling by a score of 3-0.
Mars Hill clawed back into the first set late, forcing extra points to be played, but Emmanuel took advantage of some costly Mars Hill errors to prevail, 27-25. They hit a match-high .259 with 20 kills in the set.
Emmanuel continued to control the pace of the match, outhitting Mars Hill .196-.035 in the match.
Ellie Jackson led all players with 16 kills followed by 11 from Faith Kelly. Marusa Pasut led all players with 38 assists.
The Lions' offense was led by Skylar Ogden, who knocked down eight kills while Ioana Poenaru added seven. Laela Jimenez led Mars Hill with 20 digs.
Mars Hill returns to action on Saturday, September 13 when they face Erskine on the road. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
