Mars Hill shines at L-R Opener
The Mars Hill men’s track & field team travelled to Hickory, North Carolina Saturday to compete in the Lenoir-Rhyne Opener.
HICKORY, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's track & field team travelled to Hickory, North Carolina Saturday to compete in the Lenoir-Rhyne Opener.
Freshman Levi Higgins kicked the day off with a first place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.95m.
Jared Benain competed in both the long jump and triple jump. He took home first place in the triple jump with a season-best jump of 13.41m.
Senior Tyler Holloway came in second place in the shot put with a throw of 13.51m. He followed up with a fifth place finish in the discus, throwing a personal best 37.38m.
Ky Mann finished fourth in the long jump with a season-best 6.21m. He also competed in shot put, throwing a personal best 9.24m, and raced in the 110m hurdles.
Lee Prescott finished third in the discus with a throw of 39.37m. Ben Goodlett made the finals in both the shot put and hammer throw. He turned in a season-best 11.49m in shot put.
