Mars Hill places 11th at SAC Championship
The Mars Hill men's outdoor track & field team placed 11th at the 2021 South Atlantic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
HICKORY, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's outdoor track & field team placed 11th at the 2021 South Atlantic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
Ky Mann competed in day two of the men's decathlon. He finished the day in fifth place overall with a score of 4705, scoring four points for the Lions.
Levi Higgins tied for third in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.95m. Higgins scored 5.5 points for the Lions.
Tyler Holloway threw a personal record of 14.34m in the shot put, bumping up three places in seeding to earn a sixth place finish. He scored three points on the day for Mars Hill.
Bryan Smith placed 20th in the long jump with a jump of 5.95m and 13th in the triple jump with a season-best jump of 12.25m. Joshua Vereen placed 18th in the long jump with a mark of 5.98m. Jared Benain placed 10th in the triple jump with a jump of 13.05m.
Hunter Snyder had a strong performance in the 5k, running a time of 18:13.70, placing him 33rd in the conference.
Lee Prescott competed in the shot put and discus. He placed 21st in shot put with a throw of 12.26m and 14th in discus with a throw of 37.45m.
The final event of the day was the men's 4x400m ran by David Elkins, Jared Benain, Matthew Tingle, and Elijah Swain, turning in a time of 3:32.73 and placing 10th in the conference.
