Lions Finish in 16th at Wingate Intercollegiate Challenge
Sarah Johnson shot an 82 to lead the Mars Hill women’s golf team in the second round of the Wingate Intercollegiate Challenge
MINT HILL, N.C.- Sarah Johnson shot an 82 to lead the Mars Hill women's golf team in the second round of the Wingate Intercollegiate Challenge at Olde Sycamore Golf Club on Tuesday.
Johnson was the top finisher for Mars Hill in the tournament as she finished with a 172, good for a 55th place tie among 89 golfers. Lindsey Ball shot a 91 and finished with a 36-hole score of 183. Raven Brown fired an 89 in the second round to finish with a tournament total of 188. Emma Lundvall recorded a 96, with Victoria Barrett shooting a 98 to complete the tournament. As a team, Mars Hill finished in 16th place with a team score of 733.
Converse College's Maddisen Cox was the individual winner with a 150. Limestone won the tournament by 10 shots over Newberry and Converse with a team score of 625.
Mars Hill will play in their final regular season tournament next week at the Cherokee Valley Intercollegiate.
