Castle places third, Lions ninth at Converse Spring Invite
The Mars Hill women's golf team placed ninth overall at the conclusion of the Converse Spring Invite.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Mars Hill women's golf team placed ninth overall at the conclusion of the Converse Spring Invite.
The Lions sat in 10th after a day one with a score of 349, sitting eight strokes behind Belmont Abbey for ninth. Lander University was able to retain their first place spot by scoring 71 on day one and 77 on day two.
Jalen Castle placed highest for the Lions on day one, tying for fourth overall with a score of 76.
Castle went on to place third overall with a score of 152, keeping a score of 76 throughout day two. She only trailed Hannah Stephenson Lander University by four strokes for the individual medal.
Chelsea Baker shaved five strokes off of her day one total, shooting an 83 in round two. Leah Matney knocked off seven strokes in round two, shooting an 88 on the day.
