Lions place ninth at SAC Indoor Championships
Mars Hill sets three school records.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's indoor track & field team placed ninth at the 2026 South Atlantic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, the two-day tournament hosted at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem concluding on Sunday, March 1.
The Lions set three school records over the weekend.
Natalee Powers placed seventh in the 800 meter, turning in a time of 2:17.86.
Powers, along with Natalie Freise, Mary Malcolm, and Sophie Ratcliff placed fifth in the distance medley relay, finishing with a time of 12:39.23.
In the weight throw, Cierra Williams finished fifth with a distance of 13.89 meters.
Mars Hill ended the weekend with 11 points, placing ninth out of 12 teams.

The Lions open the outdoor schedule on Friday, March 20-Saturday, March 21 when they take part in the Montreat Open, hosted by Montreat College in Black Mountain, North Carolina.
