Lions compete at Winthrop Invitational
ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Mars Hill women's outdoor track & field team traveled to Rock Hill, S.C. to compete in the Winthrop Invitational Friday, April 17th and Saturday, April 18th.
Despite the blistering heat, several Lions set personal bests. Two event wins, and a new school record set by Natalee Powers.
Event Wins/New School Record
Natalee Powers picked up event wins in both her races – the 1500m run and 800m run. Personal bests in both races, Powers finished with a time of 4:45.71 in the 1500m and a time of 2:17.20 in the 800m run. Powers broke her own school record in the 800m run.

On the Track
Natalie Freise placed 8th in the 100m hurdles with a personal best time of 16.55s.
Valeria Sanabria Olan finished with personal bests in both the 200m (time: 28.77s) and 400m (1:07.62).
Sarah McNeil placed 12th in the 1500m run with a personal best 5:42.85. Katie Harwood placed 15th in the 1500m run with a personal best 5:55.17.
In the Field
Kennadi Hale placed 7th in Javelin with a throw of 27.20m. Jimena Montero placed 8th in Javelin with a throw of 24.88m.
Cierra Williams placed 3rd in Shot Put with a throw of 11.62m. Faith Woodard placed 6th in Shot Put with a throw of 10.48m.
Kayla Rice placed 5th in Hammer throw with a throw of 41.75m. Charley Seagle placed 8th in Hammer with a throw of 36.45m and placed 12th in Javelin with a personal best 20.38m.
Next up, several Lions will travel to Western Carolina University to compete in the Catamount Classic on Friday, April 24th & Saturday, April 25th.
