Lions felled by No. 5 Trojans
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill basketball team (9-11, 3-11 SAC) was defeated by No. 5 Anderson (19-1, 13-1 SAC) by a score of 75-66 Friday afternoon.
The Trojans put up 38 first half points, led by Rashawn Inglemon's four three-pointers. He ended the half with 14 points. Mars Hill was led offensively by Ashton Troutman, going 3-for-3 for six points. Keenan Wilkins led all players with seven rebounds.
Mars Hill played strong in the second half, hitting nearly 55 percent of their shots from the floor and going 5-of-11 from beyond the arc. Wilkins led all players with 17 points, hitting four threes. Troutman added six more points as the Lions outscored Anderson 42-37 in the frame.
Inglemon led all players with 24 points followed by 21 from Osmar Garcia-Araujo. For the Lions, Wilkins led the team with 20 points while he and Alejandro Ford led all players with eight rebounds. Carson Evans led the team with four assists, adding eight points.
The Lions return to the court on Wednesday, February 4 when they host Emory & Henry. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. inside Chambers Gymnasium.
