Mars Hill defeated by Tusculum
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - The Mars Hill men's basketball team (9-14, 3-14 SAC) was defeated by Tusculum (9-14, 5-12 SAC) by a score of 88-74 Wednesday evening on the road.
Tusculum netted 43 points in the first half, with Bryce Jackson scoring 15 in the frame. He hit three three pointers in the half as the Pioneers went 7-of-18 from beyond the arc.
Ashton Troutman led the Lions with six points while Keenan Wilkins collected a team-high five rebounds.
The teams each scored 45 in the second half with Wilkins leading all players, scoring 22, going 6-of-11 from the floor, hitting three threes. Aljaz Vidmar went a perfect 5-of-5 from the floor, adding 11 points and team-high three steals.
Both teams shot over 53 percent from the floor as Tusculum was led by Jackson and Jordan Attia, scoring 14 points apiece.
Jackson led all players with 29 points, hitting a game-high 10 free throws. Attia added 19 points on the night.
Wilkins led the Lions with 25 points and added nine rebounds. Alejandro Ford led all players with 10 rebounds and five assists, adding six points.
The Lions return home on Saturday, February 14 when they host Lenoir-Rhyne. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.
