Mars Hill wraps up Buccaneer Invitational
The Mars Hill men's and women's indoor track & field teams competed at the Buccaneer Invitational held in Johnson City, Tennessee this weekend.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The Mars Hill men's and women's indoor track & field teams competed at the Buccaneer Invitational held in Johnson City, Tennessee this weekend.
Men's Day One Highlights
Joshua Vereen competed in both the long jump and the 200 meter, obtaining season-bests in both events with a jump of 6.02m and a sprint of 24.95 seconds.
Lee Prescott threw a personal-best in the men's weight throw with a throw of 10.36m.
Jackson McClain competed in the open 60 meter, finishing with a time of 7.27 seconds. McClain placed 38th on the day.
Women's Day One Highlights
Makayla Rogers competed in women's long jump, matching a season-best jump of 4.47m. Makayla placed 25th. Alina Muller also competed in the long jump, jumping a season-best 4.38m. She's placed two spots behind Rogers.
Freshmen, La'Miya Blake and Katy Scruggs competed in their first ever 60m open. Blake finished with a time of 8.93 seconds while Scruggs finished in a time of 9.91 seconds.

Men's Day Two Highlights
Levi Higgins placed sixth in the high jump with a height of 1.85m.
Ben Goodlett placed 12th in the shot put, throwing a new personal-best 13.22m. Lee Prescott placed 16th with a throw of 12.64m while Ashtin Gainey threw a new personal-best, placing 31st.
Elijah Swain ran a season-best 2:06.49 in the 800 meter.
Women's Day Two Highlights
Four Lions set new personal bests in shot put today: Bailey Beeman with a throw of 8.49m, Briana Barajas threw 8.13m, Makayla Rogers threw 7.63m, and MyKenzy Peck threw 7.4m.
Elana Mackey competed in the 800m, finishing in a time of 2:38.05, placing 27th on the day.
Mars Hill returns to action on Monday, February 7 and Tuesday, February 8 when they take part in the JDL February Multi.
