MHU selected fourth, Faus & Harvey named to All-SAC preseason first team
The highest preseason ranking since 2015 (3rd).
ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team was selected fourth in the South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Coaches Preseason poll, released Tuesday morning.
Mars Hill accumulated 74 points, garnering one first-place vote. The preseason seed is the highest since the 2015 season where they were selected third.
Mars Hill enters the 2025 campaign following an amazing run in 2024.
Mars Hill ended the season with a 10-4-5 record. They reached the South Atlantic Conference Championship Semifinals for the first time since 2021 and the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2012. The Lions hosted for the first time since 2011. Mars Hill advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2011, defeating the No. 9 seed, and Conference Carolinas Champions, Francis Marion Patriots 0-0 (5-3 PK) on Friday, November 22.
The Lions were undefeated inside Meares Stadium during the campaign.
The team boasted the Division II National Player of the Year, Peter Plougmand.

Sam Bayly was named to the All-SAC First Team with five goals and four assists for 14 points in his lone season with Mars Hill. Ben Harvey was an All-SAC Second Team selection while the trio of Bruno Fornes, Adrian Faus, and Nolan McMillen were named to the All-SAC Third Team.
Mars Hill went 6-1-3 at home this year while head coach Gregg Munn racked up his second 10+ win season of his tenure with the Lions.
Faus and Harvey were named to the All-SAC preseason First Team.
Faus was second on the team in scoring with five goals and seven assists, good for 17 points. Harvey was a defensive stalwart, starting 18 games for the Lions, leading a defense that allowed just over one goal per game.
