MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (3-2-5, 1-1-3 SAC) was defeated by No. 6 Anderson (6-0-3, 4-0-1 SAC) by a score of 4-1 Tuesday night.
The Trojans netted three second half goals to secure their sixth win of the season. Juan Leprevanche scored the game-winning goal in the 57th minute, taking advantage of a mini-breakaway to score his second of the season.
In the 82nd minute, Emmanuel Arkoh added an insurance marker. Closing out the scoring, in the 88th minute, Julian Caro scored his second of the campaign.
Anderson opened the scoring in the 17th minute as Leprevanche lobbed in a free kick that was headed in by Jonas Zethofer.
Just over four minutes later, the Lions tied the contest. Following a rebound, Carrick Bromage, on the volley, ripped a shot past Franco Antoniolli for his first of the season.
The Lions were outshot 9-5 with Arkoh, Leprevanche, and Caro each recording two shots. Bromage, Jens Haukeland, Josh Moore, David Fernandez, and Kai Stolp each had attempts for Mars Hill.
Mars Hill returns to the pitch on Friday, October 10 when they host Carson-Newman. Kickoff inside Meares Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m.
