MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer (1-0-3, 0-0-1 SAC) drew with Newberry (1-0-1, 0-0-1 SAC) by a score of 0-0 Friday evening at home.
The Lions battled to their third scoreless draw of the year, outshooting Newberry 13-9 in the contest. Mars Hill pumped nine attempts on Charlie Clark in the second half, which saw the Wolves' goalkeeper make six saves on all on-target attempts. Clark ended the night with nine saves.
The trio of Jens Haukeland, Diego Fernandez, and Kyryl Dmytryk led all players with two shots on target. Fernandez and Giuseppe Gereau led their respective teams with four shot attempts.
Logan Cassel made three saves for his career-high third shutout of the season.
Mars Hill plays game four of their five-game homestand on Tuesday, September 16 when they host North Greenville in non-conference action. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
