Mars Hill competes at Catamount Classic
The Mars Hill women's outdoor track & field team traveled to Western Carolina University today to compete at the Catamount Classic.
CULLOWHEE, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's outdoor track & field team traveled to Western Carolina University today to compete at the Catamount Classic.
Day 1 Highlights:
Makayla Rogers competed in the 100m hurdles, placing 15th with a time of 16.81s. La'Miya Blake competed in both the 100m hurdles and long jump. Blake placed 16th in hurdles, running a new season best 17.11s. She placed 23rd in long jump with a jump of 3.78m.
Alicia Wittenhagen competed in her first-ever track meet, participating in javelin. She earned a trip to the finals and placed ninth overall with a throw of 23.52m. Marissa Adame competed in her first-ever track meet as well, placing 12th in javelin with a throw of 20.53m. Briana Barajas competed in javelin as well, placing 13th overall with a new personal best 19.48m.
Elida Taylor ran a personal best 28.12s in the 200m sprint. Taylor placed 33rd overall.
Bailey Beeman placed 22nd in long jump with a jump of 4.07m.
MyKenzy Peck threw a new personal best 22.95m in hammer, placing 24th overall.
Alina Mueller competed in the 200m sprint, placing 36th overall with a time of 28.75s.
Day 2 Highlights:
Tiffany Holloway placed fifth in discus with a season best 39.54m.
Briana Barajas threw a personal best of 29.25m in discus. Barajas placed 18th overall.
Alina Mueller placed fourth in high jump with a jump of 1.45m. Makayla Rogers placed fifth in high jump, jumping a new personal best of 1.40m.
Bailey Beeman placed 14th in shot put with a new personal best throw of 9.69m.
Seanna Milton ran a new personal best 1:14.81s in the open 400, placing 17th overall.
Next up, the Lions travel to Lenoir-Rhyne to compete in the L-R Outdoor Open on Saturday, April 23rd.
