Lions place 12th at SAC Championships
The Mars Hill women’s track & field team traveled to Anderson, South Carolina to compete in the South Atlantic Conference Outdoor Championship.
ANDERSON, S.C. - The Mars Hill women's track & field team traveled to Anderson, South Carolina to compete in the South Atlantic Conference Outdoor Championship.
Highlights from the Championship:
Makayla Rogers placed eighth in the Heptathlon with a score of 3,571 points. The Heptathlon is comprised of seven events: 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put, the 200m, long jump, javelin, and the 800m. Rogers set new personal bests in five of the seven events - hurdles (16.69s), shot put (9.34m), the 200 (28.59s), javelin (28.38m), and the 800 (2:54.07).
Marissa Adame placed 12th in javelin with a personal best throw of 28.67m. Alicia Wittenhagen placed 13th in javelin with a throw of 28.42m.
Nasiri Mond placed 11th in high jump with a new personal best jump of 1.36m.
La'Miya Blake placed 13th in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.86s.
Tiffany Holloway placed 14th in discus with a throw of 33.96m. Brianna Barajas placed 17th in discus with a personal best throw of 30.73m.
Elana Mackey placed 20th in the 400m run with a time of 1:03.06s. Mackey competed in the 800m as well, placing 23rd with a time of 2:37.27s.
MyKenzy Peck placed 20th in hammer with a throw of 20.9m.
Bailey Beeman placed 18th in long jump with a jump of 4.13m. Beeman competed in shot put as well, placing 19th with a throw of 9.31m. Chandler Adams placed 23rd in shot put with a throw of 7.56m.
Elida Taylor competed in the 200m sprint, placed 24th overall with a time of 27.79s. Anahi Reta placed 23rd in the 400m sprint with a time of 1:14.87s. Seanna Milton placed 24th in the 400m with a time of 1:16.12s.
The women finished 12th overall with one point.
