Lions compete at L-R Bear Invite

HICKORY, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's outdoor track & field team competed at the L-R Bear Invite Saturday afternoon.
Tiffany Holloway advanced to the finals in discus, placing second overall with a throw of 37.48m
Elana Mackey ran a new personal best, 1:01.74s, in the open 400, placing fourth overall.
Alina Mueller and Makayla Rogers tied for fourth in high jump, both jumping 1.45m. Rogers set a new personal best in the event. She placed sixth in triple jump with a jump of 10.09m.
Alicia Wittenhagen advanced to the finals in javelin, placing ninth overall. Wittenhagen threw a new personal best of 28.21m. Marissa Adame threw a new personal best of 21.75m in javelin, placing 18th overall. Victoria Chambers placed 21st in javelin with a new personal best throw of 18.94m.
Bailey Beeman jumped a new personal best of 4.32m in long jump, placing 11th overall.
Elida Taylor ran a new personal best of 27.61s in the 200m sprint. Taylor placed 20th overall.
MyKenzy Peck threw a new personal best, 25.79m, in the hammer throw, placing 14th overall.
Anahi Reta ran 1:11.95 in the open 400, placing 13th overall.
The Lions next compete in the SAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 5th & 6th in Anderson, South Carolina.
