MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's lacrosse team (1-9, 0-5 SAC) was defeated by Lenoir-Rhyne (6-3, 3-2 SAC) by a score of 29-4 Saturday afternoon.
The Bears tallied 17 goals in the first half, led by Donovan Powell and Nate Serrano. The Lions tallied twice in the first, with goals coming from Luke Moore and Ben Hokenson. Dillon Buran assisted on Moore's goal.
Lenoir-Rhyne held the Lions scoreless in the third, racking up six goals. In the fourth, Mars Hill potted two with goals from Moore and Aiden McNamara. Buran assisted on McNamara's goal for his second point of the contest while Caleb Nelson assisted on Moore's second.
Powell and Jack Mulligan led all players with five points apiece (4G, 1A) followed by four aside from Serrano, Jarrett Huff, and Eli Busse (2G, 2A).
Moore led the Lions with two goals while Buran added two assists.
Owen Peters stopped two shots for his sixth win of the year. Xavier Wells made 11 saves in three quarters.
The Lions face Emory & Henry on the road on Wednesday, April 1. Faceoff is set for a 7 p.m. start.
