Women's Track Picked to Finish Fourth in South Atlantic Conference
Mars Hill was picked to finish in fourth place in South Atlantic Conference women’s outdoor track & field preseason coaches’ poll.
ROCK HILL, S.C.- Mars Hill was picked to finish in fourth place in South Atlantic Conference women's outdoor track & field preseason coaches' poll, the league announced today.
The Lions finished with 50 points, eight points behind third place Anderson and one point ahead of fifth place Lenoir-Rhyne. At the 2014 SAC Championship, Mars Hill finished in fifth place as two student-athletes finished with two event wins.
Last weekend at the Charlotte 49er Invitational, Jessica Viscusi and Faith Trammell became the first runners in program history to finish in the 17-minute bracket in the 5000 meter run.
Wingate was picked to win the conference title as the Bulldogs narrowly finished ahead of Coker with 67 points compared to 66 points. Anderson was picked to finish third with 58 points, followed by Mars Hill and Lenoir-Rhyne.
Mars Hill travels to the Raleigh Relays this weekend.
