Three Lions Earn USTFCCCA All-Region Honors
Alexis Montgomery, Faith Trammell and Jessica Viscusi earned All-Region honors
NEW ORLEANS- Seniors Faith Trammell and Jessica Viscusi along with junior Alexis Montgomery have earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region honors, the organization announced last night. The three Lion student-athletes were honored in five separate events.
Viscusi claimed All-Region honors in the 3000 meter Steeplechase, 5000 Meters and 1500 Meters. She set school records in the 5000 (17:44.26) and 3000 Steeplechase (11:12.53).
Trammell was an All-Region selection in the 5000 and 10000 meters. She set a new school record in the 10000 at the SAC Championship as she finished in second place with a time of 38:33.73. Trammell also held the school record in the 5000 with her time of 17:55.40 before it was broken by Viscusi later in the Charlotte 49er Invitational.
Montgomery earned All-Region accolades in the 200 meter dash with a season-best time of 24.65 at the Catamount Classic and was the runner-up in that event at the SAC Championships. She set a new school record in the 100 meter dash, finishing in 12.21 seconds.
A total of 651 separate competitors accumulated 931 total honors.
