Chin Has Record-Setting Performance in Cullowhee
Aiyanna Chin set a new school record in the hammer throw on the opening day of the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic at Western Carolina.
CULLOWHEE, N.C.- Aiyanna Chin set a new school record in the hammer throw on the opening day of the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic at Western Carolina.
Chin set her second record in as many weeks with a throw of 35.70 meters (117 feet, 1 inch). In the javelin, Taylor Jordan scored an eighth place finish with a throw of 31.54 meters (103 feet, 6 inches).
On the men's side, Isaac Phyall finished in sixth place in the triple jump, with Tre'von Gee earning an eighth place finish. Phyall finished with a mark of 12.98 meters, with Gee recording a leap of 12.52 meters.
The meet continues tomorrow in Cullowhee.
