EMORY, Va. - The Mars Hill women's soccer team (1-5, 0-3 SAC) was defeated 4-0 by Emory & Henry (5-2, 1-2 SAC) Sunday evening.
The Wasps struck three times in the first half as Oliva DaSilva opened the scoring in the 33rd minute. Just over seven minutes later, Charlotte Stavis netted her fifth of the season and first of the game. With 15 seconds remaining in the half, Bailey Springman extended the lead to three.
Stavis, in the 74th minute, netted her second of the game with the assist going to DaSilva.
Stavis led all players with seven shots, four on-target. Sophia Appello led the Lions with three shots followed by two from Delaney Griffin.
Mars Hill returns to the pitch on Wednesday, October 1 when they host Wingate. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. inside Meares Stadium.
