GREENWOOD, S.C./BELMONT, N.C. - The Mars Hill baseball team (13-17-1) was defeated by both Lander (17-14) and Belmont Abbey (23-8) in their midweek set of games, played on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
TUESDAY, MARCH 24

Lander struck early and often, leading 13-0 after six, including back-to-back four-run innings in the fourth and fifth.
The Lions offense clicked in the top of the eighth, scoring eight runs. Both Dawson Anderson and Max LaLime recorded RBI singles while the inning was highlighted by Alejandro Aguilar's second grand slam in the past four games.
Aguilar led the team with two hits and four RBI. Pip Smalley led all players with three hits and four RBI. Carter McCormick and Riley Hood each added three RBI apiece.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25
BAC 7, MHU 0
The Crusaders threw a two-hit shut out against the Lions, picking up their 23rd win of the campaign.
Josh Wilson led all players with two hits and two RBI. Chapel Matson and Terick Bumgarner were credited the Lions' hits on the day.
The Lions return back to South Atlantic Conference play on Friday, March 27 when they host Anderson. First pitch at Henderson Field is set for 2 p.m.
