CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's basketball team (3-3) was defeated by Johnson C. Smith (2-2) by a score of 67-48 Saturday afternoon on the road.
The Golden Bulls shot nearly 46 percent from the floor with four players netting double-figures. Tameia Shaw led all players with 15 points, followed by 11 from Salote Franklin. La'Niya Simes led the team with nine rebounds as Nyasia James paced all players with six assists.
Felesia Ondongo led Mars Hill with 11 points while Shyann McCummings added eight off the bench, also leading the team with six rebounds. Adrianna Gullette led the team with three assists, adding six points.
Mars Hill opens South Atlantic Conference play on Wednesday, December 3 when they host Newberry. Tipoff inside Chambers Gymnasium is set for 5:30 p.m.
