HARROGATE, Tenn. - The Mars Hill women's basketball team (4-5, 1-2 SAC) was defeated by Lincoln Memorial (6-1, 2-1 SAC) by a score of 109-69 Wednesday night on the road.
The Railsplitters put up back-to-back 27 point quarters in the first half, leading 54-22 heading into the half. Despite the Lions putting up 21 and 26 points, respectively, in the third and fourth quarters, the Lincoln Memorial offense continued to roll, totaling 55 second half points.
The duo of Kamil Collier and Kallie Housley each recorded 19 points followed by 15 from Lexi Patty. Sariya Henry led the team with eight rebounds while Alexa Smiddy led all players with six assists.
Jadyiah Peoples led the Lions with 17 points and five rebounds, followed by 16 points from Adrianna Gullette. Gullette led the team with three assists. The trio of Jadein Haynes, Kindan Dawson, and Shyann McCummings blocked one shot apiece.
The Lions return home, hosting No. 9 Coker on Saturday, December 13. Tipoff inside Chambers Gymnasium is set for 2 p.m.
