Men’s Soccer national rankings in NCAA statistics
MARS HILL, N.C. - Mars Hill ranks in the top nine of four national statistical categories, according to the latest NCAA National Rankings Summary. The Lions (11-5-1) rank in two offensive and defensive categories.
Mars Hill is fourth in the nation in scoring offense. The Lions average 2.75 goals per game. Colorado Mines and Limestone leads the country with 3.0 goals per game.
Mars Hill ranks eighth in total goals with 44 through 17 games. Colorado Mines and Limestone each have scored 51 this season.
Defensively, Mars Hill is fifth nationally in save percentage with a mark of 0.873. Rockhurst tops the country at 0.909. The Lions are ranked ninth in team goals against average, allowing only 0.62 per match. Rockhurst is first at 0.29.
Mars Hill goalkeeper Zac Scott ranks seventh in save percentage (0.865) and eighth in goals against average (0.632). Ryan Bass of Rockhurst leads the country in both categories with marks of 0.906 and 0.315.
Mars Hill awaits the announcement of the NCAA Tournament selections on Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. through NCAA.com. Six teams in the Southeast Region will earn a bid to the NCAA Tournament. The top four seeds in the Southeast Region will host a tournament game, and the top two seeds will receive a bye through the opening round. Mars Hill falls within Super Region Three in the selection process.
