Men’s Soccer national rankings in NCAA statistics
MARS HILL, N.C. - Mars Hill ranks in the top 21 of four national statistical categories, according to the latest NCAA National Rankings Summary. The Lions (9-4-1) rank in two offensive and defensive categories.
Mars Hill is 15th in the nation in scoring offense. The Lions average 2.5 goals per game. UNC Pembroke leads the country with 2.86 goals per game.
Mars Hill ranks 21st in total goals with 35 through 14 games. Metro State and Wilmington (Del.) each have scored 45 this season.
Defensively, Mars Hill is fifth nationally in save percentage with a mark of 0.867. Rockhurst tops the country at 0.904. The Lions are ranked 13th in team goals against average, allowing only 0.7 per match. Rockhurst is first at 0.33.
Mars Hill goalkeeper Zac Scott ranks sixth in save percentage (.857) and 15th in goals against average (.787). Ryan Bass, who is from Rockhurst, and Ryan Wirth, who plays at Fort Lewis, lead the country in save percentage and goals against average, respectively, with marks of 0.9 and 0.353.
